Is it the start solenoid clicking or the choke solenoid? If only the choke clicks the interlock is probably not centered, preventing the starter from turning. Move the control handle through the gears and back to neutral. If necessary, remove the engine cover and eyeball the neutral interlock switch (Two yellow wires on a brown switch under the bottom carb, opposite the starter.)

Of course, check all the battery connections for good contact and check the battery itself for correct charge and voltage

So if I get this correct, your starter solenoid isn't spinning the engine over when you turn the key, but the choke solenoid is clicking? Okay, have you checked to see if the starter solenoid has voltage on it when the key is turned? You should have voltage at one of the small terminals on the starter solenoid when the key is turned to the start position. If not, you have a problem with the ignition switch to the starter solenoid. If you do have voltage on the starter solenoid and it isn't spinning the engine over. Try jumping from the battery positive terminal to the starter, bypassing the solenoid and see if the starter spins. If so, then the starter solenoid is bad. If not then you have a bad starter OR a corroded ground connection at the engine, if the battery is good... JMHO!

Ha allstarcustoms, thanks for coming back and posting your problem and fix. That way you have helped other with similar issues. Thanks again and glad you are now a happy boater and it didn't cost any replacement parts too... :thumb:
