Just recently bought my first boat and enjoyed it with no issue for about two weeks. Third time I went out the boat started and ran fine for about an hour brought the boat back in and let it sit for about 30 minutes. When I went to crank it it would turnover but would not start the motor has a Holley 2 barrel carb so in order to get it started I pumped the accelerator pump and it started but died after it used up the fuel. Finally I gave up and had to put it back on trailer. I just disconnected the fuel line to the carb and cranked it I get no fuel. So I'm guessing it the mechanical fuel pump my question is how hard would it be to switch over to electric fuel pump from mechanical if it's possible.. And if anybody would know is there a substitute fuel pump that I can use other than the Volvo one. Thanks for any help

Bondo. That FL is a Ford 302. My 95 FL is mechanical so I'll bet that 96 is as well.

I found a good price on a marine mech fuel pump at a popular racing parts website. I think it was a carter pump.

Yea it's a ford 302 with a mechanical fuel pump I'm looking for a replacement that's not going to cost me 300 dollars I see some online but the shaft that goes on the cam lobe is shorter so not sure if they would work
