Need Help , Important!

My friend want to buy a bass boat and he found an "amazing " deal. It is a Stratos pro 21 with a stratos trailer 200hp or 225 don't remember. The whole rig is 1998.
So carpet gone, the owner said he took it off to replace. The fish-finder doesn't work, need a water pump in the motor, otherwise is a beast. start , run.
It is for $3000 .. Just a trailer like $1500 ... so yes it is a steal deal, but , these are the signs if the boat was stunk ??

Should he pay for boatfax ? maybe something will come up if it was a water damage?

I've not been impressed with boat fax ... perhaps others have a different opinion.

Nothing you are describing says the boat was sunk, but all of it suggests the boat was neglected. Look through the boat buyers checklist at the top of this forum, and maybe pay a local marine tech to take a look at it for you.

here is it. It looks nice specially the motor, i just scared of the price, sounds so good I think that trailer itself with a boat without the motor probably $3000

Nah... In my neck of the woods the trailer would be $350-$550 and the hull by itself in that condition would be free....ish

That's not a deal, nor a steal. Unless of course you mean the seller is stealing the money from the buyer.

Has all the cover for the hatch. Well i looked a prices and a 1990 models sells for 6k, this one close to 10K. that 225hp motor 1998 used around $2800 so i don't know, it looks to me a good deal, but if you guys say so..
