Serial numbers?

Hey all! 1992 Celebrity, 4.3 Mercuiser l. I'm looking for serial numbers...All I've got is "OD691540" off of the Alpha 2 stern drive. Please help. Always appreciated!

Ayuh,..... The motor's should be on an aluminum tag riveted to the block down beside or just aft of the starter,....

BTW, that number ^ is off the transom housing, not the drive....

My bad! Off the transom. Nothing identifiable on the motor. Guy at the local marine found 3 serials on the internet based on this number. Trying to figure it out without having to call him again. Thanks!

Unlikely. He'll have access to the Merc database, and from the transom number he'll know the serial numbers of the drive and the engine based on them being sent to Merc as a 'set' when the engine/drive were installed... Have you looked on the drive under the decal, as per the link in my first post? Or looked down the back of the engine for the ali tag (on the flywheel housing casting above the starter motor?
