1989, 70 hp trim relays just click when pushed. Are they burnt up. Tarlike sticky grease on prongs. What's up with that?

The tar-like sticky grease could just be grease to protect the terminals from corrosion, or it could be something pushed out of the relays from overheating.

You are going to have to do some testing. With the relays energized, are you getting voltage at the trim motor?
