Looking for a long shaft for a kicker to add to the Carver. Found one that states he has spacer and driveshaft. Is there any other parts needed other than maybe a hose for cooling ? Its an 84 dont want to get anything that might have parts NLA.

redneck joe, I honestly don't know the going prices for such size OBs, but $750 for a 1984 engine seems a bit steep to me. I realize that it comes with the parts to make it a long shaft (with the possible exception of the water tube), but a new engine that size really isn't that much more and it comes with a warrantee... :noidea:

You have the expensive two parts. ( The long drive shaft is obsolete anyway but would have been over well $200 if available.)

you will also need the long lower shift rod and the long water tube each available and a little over $20 and some other minor parts shown in the inset top left in the parts diagram:

Yeah shift cable. Ive actually found a 92 model that purports to have been in the garage since 1993. Electric start and long shaft from the factory. Only two hours away and have that could be work travel that give me mileage...
