has anyone used those slides before and has anything to say? found few reviews of gelcoat stripping by those but in very few occasions.

Never used them, but heard boats go on and off easy, but the easy off is the one that catches most folks. Don't ever release your strap before your ready it can slide right off. Also make sure to use your rear tie downs. I like the carpet because it does hold a bit.

Slides probably best for larger, heavier boats and relatively shallow ramp launching....as mentioned, carpet does tend to hold your boat from sliding around on your trailer....
