150 Black Max plug wire removal

I'm considering replacing the plug wires on an older Black Max. Sorry, but I'm unsure of the exact year, but I can find out if it's important. Anyways, I attempted to pull them out of the coils, but they seem stuck. Is it possible they're not designed to be removed? I really don't want to have to replace the entire coil and wires. Oh, they do have a boot over the coil. They look like they should come out but I'm just not sure and don't seem to see anything in the forums. Thanks, Carl

Hope an outboard dude comes along but I have not seen and outboard with individual coil packs with replaceable plug wires, they have all been part of the coil

Hey I got the first one out. It was really corroded in there, and broke loose from the terminal, but I managed to get that out with a terminating screw driver and a pair of needle nose. Now I just need to clean up the coils and make some new ones with some yellow Accell wires....lol.

You should buy OEM spark plug wires for that motor. They are usually stranded stainless steel conductors, with heavy duty boots and insulation. They are pricy, but likely superior. The serial number should tell you the year of the motor and you can search the web for the best price..
