Hi guys, i;m new to this site and I hope I can get some help. I have a 2006 chapparell with a 4.3 gl volvo penta and I'm having starter problems
Before when I tried to start the engine, i was just getting a clicking noise so I had the starter replaced. Now that i have installed the new starter, I am not getting anything, not even a click. When I turn the key ahead, my power trim isn't even working. I am wondering is there a fuse somewhere that could be causing this or another switch. Thanks.

Welcome aboard.

Moved your post to a new thread out of the old one. Look at the Help Tip on top of the page.

What kind of shape is the battery in? A discharged or weak battery also just clicks the starter/solenoid.

Howdy

Look for the 40 amp push button breaker on the motor.
Other wise need to start with a voltmeter and start tracing your wires. Do you have a battery switch and is it ON?

The breaker is on the engine and has a red button. Looks like its probably a 50amp instead of 40. Need a volt meter or test light and follow it to the alternator and then thru the breaker. See lower left side of diagram below

make sure your connections at the starter are bright and shiney clean. as in clean enough that you would eat off them. Same goes for the battery connections.
