Oil mixture ratio charts

Fifty parts to 1 part is neither Metric or English. It's merely a ratio.

When I was in Grammar School we had to learn Metric because the US was going to switch "soon". That was 60 years ago. It has always made sense, but has been delayed over and over because the old fogie politicians can't do rithmatik.

Of course it's a ratio. But my tank holds 6 gallons, and we buy gasoline by the gallon, so...

Is 100:1 rated for Yam Recreational OB's or for Commercial (Enduros) as well. We have tons of Yam enduro models in use, but for those Yam recommends 50:1, probably to be in the safe side of the equation and avoid premature repairs ?

Everything I find says 100:1 for the year and model I have (1994 2 cylinder 25 hp). I had to look up Enduros, but it appears they are designed to work under heavy loads primarily, and if I ran wide open throttle mostly, I'd probably go 50:1.

BTW, my Yami tank lists the capacity in US gallons, Imperial gallons and liters. My oil mixing bottle shows liters, gallons, ounces and ml, at ratios of 50:1, 24:1 and 16:1. It doesn't have 100:1, though, so there's my dilemma with the Yami.

Anyhoot, I'm good to go whether I'm in NY or Ontario.

I picked my mixing bottle at wally world as I have snoblowers, chainsaws, weedeaters, boat motors and they all have a different mix ratio. My bottle shows 16;1, 24;1, 32;1, 40;1, 50;1, 100;1 ratios and is graduated in one gallon increments up to 12 gallons. Much easier this way than trying to remember all those numbers. I have a tag cable tied to the handle of each with its mix ratio as a reminder. Each gas can also has a mix ratio tag cable tied to its handle. Now I just need to learn to read so I know which one to use!!

So you're saying you can't run your Yamaha because your oil bottle doesn't have a 100:1 ratio? Fill it to the 50:1 mark, then pour half on the ground...or, you could use that half to start your barbeque grill. Give those burgers a wonderful smoke flavor

I just use an empty Sta-bil bottle. That's why I'm always figuring ratios. I can, however, remember what my three or four 2 cycles use.

Used to have only 1 boat, but it was too big to handle alone, so I bought a smaller one to use when everyone else was busy. Then, after the kids moved out and found a lot of spare time so bought an antique to restore. Etcetera!

If you can't find time, get rid of it and spend the money for whatever it is you do. Have to have your priorities straight. My wife and 2 boys like boats too.

Is that 70% IN a boat, OR working on a boat??? The latter scenario seems more likely. My grandson (10 at the time) told some of my friends when questioned about going fishing that I didn't have time for working on the boat.

Actually jspriddy, if you are really technically serious about ratio mixtures, 1.28ozs of oil to a gallon of fuel is not a 100:1 ratio it is really 101:1 mixture. That would be 1.28oz of oil to 128.0ozs of fuel for a new mixture of 129.28:1.28 mixture. Because you add that 1.28ozs and therefore the exact mixture is now changed. I realize that is splitting hairs.......

Uh.... no, ratios do not add together. 1:1 ration is NOT 1oz to 2oz, as per your logic.

gasil mixes are not calculated based on the end resut. ie/ you don't mix gas to get EXACTLY 1gallon of mix
