2005 3.0 Mercruiser not starting

Hey guys.
Have a 05 bayliner with 3.0 mercruiser
Started boat few days ago.
Changed out a faulty tachometer

Tried to start today, it cranks but doesnt turn over.
I def smell the gas flowing.

Thinking maybe the kill switch??
Any help guys would be great..

As a quick test, remove the gray wire from the back of the tach gauge and see if it will start...good luck.

Could be, if the kill switch is off the motor will crank but it will not start. The kill switch should be on your throttle handle.

Alldodge, I do not know if its flooded.
Just wanted to see how long would be best to waite, if that was the problem

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,..... Check for voltage at the coil,.....

Recheck yer tach install,.... it can ground out the ignition,.....

Ok.
Bingo.
Disconnected new tach and she started up.

What would cause this?
It has same connections as old tach
Old tach didnt have any reading
