1996 5.0 gi. Thermostat housing was junk. I got a new one and moved 2 fittings from the old one. The 2 aft hoses go to the manifolds. Center on the starboard comes from the pump. Large hose up front on starboard goes to the front of the engine. On top of the housing there was a fitting with a hose barb on it. I don't remember taking a hose off of that. Shop manual says 5 hoses so I'm assuming something goes on there. Looking at a diagram it shows that fitting and the hose that it connects to goes to the manifold. What am I missing here? I'm thinking that it is a bypass so if the thermostat isn't open it will go to the manifold. But I don't have a hose left so now I'm stumped. Anyone?
