I just aquired a very clean unit and noticed the lower unit only has one screw for the oil. How exactly do I go about putting in the proper amount? Do I drain it and fill it with it on its side until it reaches the threads? Is there a specific amount I put in? It's a dark brown color but not milky or any color besides it being used oil.
The water pump impeller was stiff so I soaked it in hot water and installed it backwards so the arms would stay in contact with the walls of the pump area. But I already ordered a new seal (the one below the impeller and the impeller itself just so I know it's good to go. It pumps water really well and running for about a half hour the engine runs nice and cool and I can hold my hand on it comfortably. I'm going to rebuild/ clean the carb just so I know it's clean. Other than that it fires up in just a couple pulls and runs smooth for a single cylinder. I paid $130 for it and I'm happy with it so far
sorry for the long post just figured I'd give a bit of info on it since I'm new here.
