2005 Johnson 15Hp lower unit ?

2005 Johnson 15HP lower unit on a 2 stroke model the same as a 4 stroke model? I want to get a longer shaft and there is one on ebay but it is for a 4 stroke and mine is a two stroke. if they are different can I remove parts off my shorter shaft and parts off the 4 stroke to make it work?

The early Johnson 4 strokes used the same lower unit as a 2 stroke with a different driveshaft.----------You may find that the 2005 model 4 stroke is a rebadged Suzuki.------------Not the same lower unit as the 2 stroke Johnson model.

do you know if I can buy a extension for my 2 stroke to make it a long shaft?

also does anyone know what years the lower case would be the same? I found a '98 but don't know if it is the same housing as the 2005?

You will need to look at the parts diagrams for each motor and see if the part numbers are the same.
