Gentlemen,
I am new to this forum and hoping for some help. I have a Volvo Penta 275 stern drive that sheared the thrust pin (PN 897722) on the reverse trim locking mechanism. I was going to make another but not sure the original length, as it's missing the top. Any help on this would be helpful. Took it out last weekend and had to drag the skag up the ramp to manually release the stupid thing. Wanted to go out again tomorrow and wasn't able to tear into it till last night, otherwise, I would have just ordered one online. Mine is locked on with red Loctite but it also has a jam nut, is that common to use the Loctite on it? Seems you would have to have it dead on first try or rip it all out again. I have a lathe and stainless stock, just need a length. Thanks in advance.

Thanks guys, I haven’t been on here in a while. I was able to make a new part and got it adjusted just right on the first go. Thanks for your help.
