I think whatever it spits out is a good sign but in reality you should service (replace) the impeller if it's origin is unknown
needles should be GENTLY seated in then...... turned out about 1.25 - 1.5 turns........ start and warn up the engine go full
speed and adjust the lower (HS) needles mid point between flooding( out to much) and starving (in to much)
then adjust the top needle the same way in idle mode . it is better to be a tad to rich than to lean
after making adjustments wait a few minutes for the adjustments to stabilize and visit Leroy's site for lots of info on these oldies
