I have an 04 Chaparral SSI 215 powered by a Volvo Penta 5.0 GXI (fuel injected). I took it out for the first time in approx. a year this Sat. The gas was left over from last year and I had put in Marine Stabil. The engine ran fine in the driveway. Once on the water the engine runs fine up to 1000RPM. Once I try to go over that it just sags and will die until I pull the throttle back. Once at 1000RPM or less it runs fine. First thought I had is the gas has turned. Yesterday I siphoned out the gas (still have 5 - 10 gallons to go this afternoon). The gas is green like the juice in a pickle jar. I hope that draining gas and putting in some good stuff will cure it. But if it does not has anyone experienced this or have any ideas? The fuel pump was replaced 3- 4 years ago. Thanks,

Dave

It sounds like it is in limp mode. Is the check engine light on? You need to read the codes.

Limp mode will let you run 2500 rpm's. The green is most likely the color of the stabilizer. Marine Stabil is blue in color but mixed with gas it will change color.
Check the pressure on the fuel pump. There is a schrader valve to hook up the gauge
