1997 mercruiser 4.3 LX fuel / ignition issues??

not to bash but... I don't know what "average" v6 your talking about at WOT I'm burning 16 GPH verified by my floscan... even the mercruiser web site backs those #'s ---> http://www.boat-fuel-economy.com/mercury-mercruiser-4.3-262-190-fuel-consumption-us-gallons

next time I take the boat out I will get some pic's backing my #'s up :smile-new:

I'm just doing the math, If your burning 16 GPH and doing 54 MPH take 54/16=3.37 MPG. Yes I used the same website (4.3L V6) and this is why I said 16 (TKS) to 18 (MPI).

The flow scan is installed before the fuel filter correct?

Boat looks like it has strange looking OB hanging on it. I have never seen Chevy V6 application like that?

yes before the fuel/water separator ... I guess I just did not understand what you where saying... you had stated that the average v6 at "cruse speeds" was 16-18 GPH when you meant WOT

No, didn't mean WOT, if you look at the link in your previous post is list the MPG, and this is at cruise. Now you said in post 21 that you were showing 16 GPH, so my response was based on your last statement in post 21 of 16 GPH at WOT, then I used the 54 MPH as stated previous. As before no biggy were good

all good!!

and I posted several fuel burn #'s in that post
"UPDATE: after the new floscan install I have now confirmed my fuel burn #'s!! at low cruse of 23-25 MPH 4.6 MPG and normal cruse of 32-35 MPH 5.0 MPG and at WOT (54 ish MPH) 3.25 MPG... gotta love that!!!!"
