Sounds good and kudos to you for cjecking it so extensively? Just curious, whats the etiquette for that? Like i would love to tell a buyer im going to borrow for the wknd to lake test or maybe just go through the mechanics. I bought a boat thatd run great on hose yet needed intake gasket. Haha, easy fix but really a lake test is only way to go only mine wasnt registrered so a no go.

As a seller id take someome out on a boat im selling but idk how id feel letting them pull plugs and really tear into it as mine you have to pull the doghouse and seat bottom to even reach plugs

A through inspection before final purchase elect, lower unit, engine bolt ons ect. Had rinkers before but always had a sweet spot for the crownline all goes well be on the water next saturday

I see, for some reason i thought you were doing it. Makes sense to find a dealer, almost like a common mediator. Congrats on boat, please post pics if you can. I too like them and i think a 20' with the 5L is a nice combo.

ANYONE!!!! buying a used boat needs to go through it or have a mechanic check it out.

$100 to a mechanic could save you thousands later!!

The compression, as long as the readings are all within 10# of each other it should be good.
Different gauges will show different results.
There can be as much as 50# difference between your gauge and mine??

You need to pull the drive and check the u-joints.

If there's a 50 psi difference you need to get a better and even calibrated gauge.😉 Yep boats certainly can hide problems. My background, Im a certified aircraft mechanic and work on cars over 18 yrs experience and on muffs as many say you dont always find problems. Next boat i buy tested on hose im spraying intake to leak check. Better yet lake test and avoid unregistered not being used, unless you want a project like i figured id be getting.

Check the trim resevoir for water, many seem to overlook that
