Ok got my tach working. Rectifier & stator was both bad. That is now fixed. I hooked up my vacuum and fuel pressure tester gauge to my water pressure gauge line. Will be taking it to the lake Wednesday. That will tell me if it is the gauge or not forsure. Hopefully that is all it is. I have put alot of money in this old motor. Would love for it to be right.

Ok took boat out today. Has water pressure problem. Not the gauge. Gauge is correct. I am afraid that my timing is out now. Did not run right at all today. Very sluggish trying to get it on plan. Once on plan still did not have the power it had. Have heard of a sticky on here about setting timing. Have looked and looked can't find it. If someone has a link to it please share it with me.

So it shouldn't be the timing then. Before I replaced the stator it ran better than it does now. With this stator it is like it has a problem getting out of the hole. Top end isn't as good. Tach does work now.

Ok going to take my boat back to the lakey tomorrow. I feel like an idiot. When I was removing the stuck flywheel (ended up having to use a heat gun with the puller) I had put a piece of wood under flywheel and tapped it with a hammer whole puller was on it it hopes it would free it up. Well in that process I broke the plastic connector that attaches the time adv arm to the thottle. It was setting about middle way so that tells me why I had a fast idle. And sluggish out of the whole. And top end was not the greatest either. I found this when I was getting everything ready to check the timing. So hopefully tomorrow the motor will run great. Still have the water pressure problem.
