Keep the lady happy, AD. She's a keeper!

Is she gonna help with the final 2 coats? Ply her with beer. :D

She drinks beer on the water, but really is a winner,

I to like grapes also, ripe, dried or fermented :D

The worst is over and you are closer to sharing celebratory libations with the Admiral.

Are you planning on finishing the jack pad areas on the trailer?

Yes, once the hull is done and it sits for 3 days, it will go back on the trailer, and then will start the painting process on the jack pad areas

Have 5 coats on and looks pretty good. There are some heavy sanding marks that I didn't notice when first starting to paint. The dealer did a great job when it was just doing the bottom paint removing, but guess the low paid guys doing the sanding were getting frustrated, or something. In any case, its all done expect the jack pad areas. Will put on the trailer Monday, paint Tue and Wed while installing another oil cooler and finish wiring the oil temp gauge. Probably put it in the water and on the lift somewhere between Fri and next Mon.

Alldodge, I had to strip 30+ years of bottom paint off my 1974 Hiliner Gypsy, Sanding that crap is brutal, so I went with regular "Kleen Strip" Paint stripper from Home Depot.
It worked pretty well, but depending on the multiple coats of paint, you may have to re-apply in the same spot more than once to get to the gelcoat.
Don't leave it on too long or it will soften the gelcoat, but after you remove it the gelcoat hardens again.

Its a messy job, but you'll be glad when its done.

The best paint I have found to use on the bottom is Top Secret Coating's Supermarine Revolution 1000, its one of the few paints that can be immersed in water with no problem and resistant ot abrasions such as beaching and trailering..

Cap - i have a '69 HiLiner 21 that i recently had repainted with imron - but now realize i should've taken the bottom paint off first. can i use keen strip on my bottom paint without messing up my new imron paint job?

thanks you sir.
