Anyone use this to hold slide assembly in place??

stupid question but it says in there right?? Does not get in the way of anything else??

It clips in place solidly and doesn't get in the way.

Once the drive is almost on, within an inch or so of being fully inserted, you pull that piece out. At that point, the shift slide assembly is all matched up and you don't need the tool anymore. The tool does not stay with the boat. In fact, you cannot get the drive fully on with that orange piece in place.

Marc thanks for the pic.Makes perfect sense after seeing it.I bought one but didnt even open the box it came in yet.Cant believe I never heard of this before.Have done my drives at least 30+ times over the years.could have used it for sure.Charlie

I saw it mentioned somewhere a couple of years ago.
I know for me it makes things a bit easier and allows for 2 or 3 fewer curses.

And yes, as jas mentioned just slide the drive on until it hits the holder and then pull the holder out.
