Loctite and Anti-Seize on Exhaust Manifold and Riser? 3.0L Mercruiser

I'm planning to change out my exhaust manifold and riser soon on a 3.0L Mercruiser. The manual calls for Loctite 27131. Seems like this is the red high strength stuff and in my experience that can be a bear to break loose later. I've been told to use anti-seize instead by a local mechanic.

What do you all use on your bolts when changing out an exhaust manifold and riser? The part number the manual suggests is:
Quicksilver Loctite 27131 (#92-809820)

Any tips on Loctite and anti-seize appreciated.

No Lock-Tite needed. Antiseize on the manifold and riser bolts

Ayuh,.... Don S convinced me over the years to ditch never-seize, 'n use Form-a-Gasket #3 insteada, 'n he was Right,....
Same thing as Quicksilver, Perfect Seal,....

By usin' the liquid never drys form-a-gasket the threads are sealed, 'n rust can't penetrate,...

I still have a bottle or 2 of never-seize, but rarely to never use it anymore,....
I even use the #3 on wheel lug nuts, with much better results than with never-seize,...

Thanks Guys, I was convinced by you all here on the boards so I have a bottle of form-a-gasket aviation around, i'll plan to use that. Don S was definitely such a great guy, I still refer to his old posts and I lost a little confidence knowing he is gone since he had helped me personally so many times. Glad you guys are around to help, I value your time and appreciate the help!

Ayuh,.... I'd have never believed I could miss a man so badly, I'd never met before, myself,......

We chatted here, he'd call me on the phone, but I never got to shake 'is hand,...

A legendary Mechanic, sadly missed by Many,....
