Gas Smell on boat After Shut Down

2008 Cruisers 330 with Volvo Penta 8.1Gi engines. V Drive

I have a gas smell after shut down that is pretty heavy. Checked the bilges and found no gas. Any ideas on where to start troubleshooting? Metal gas tanks.

start checking every fuel connection.

then have your tanks pressure tested

Include the fuel rail and it's connections when checking. Check the fuel level sender in the tank as well.

Is there anything to the fact that it only occurs after shut down? It usually comes 5-10 minutes later. I see no gas in the bilge.

Yeah... you're not moving... no ventilation. Be careful!
