Hi,

I have a 90' Sea Ray S23, with a 5.7l mercruiser and alpha one drive.
The engine nr is B652627.
I was hoping someone can point me out to the right nr service manual.

Thanks

Dennis

Hello Dennis and :welcome: to iboats.

You have a 1990 boat, but a 1987 engine (based on that serial number)..

For the engine, Merc factory manual #9, for the drive manual #6.

You have an MCM (sterndrive). MIE is an inboard (Mercruiser Inboard Engine).

Haven't a clue what that would be for.

The mercury website lists some manuals like that. One says this.
"Explains the basic operation, maintenance, and warranty of your MerCruiser engine and drive. This manual is shipped with every new MerCruiser engine unit."

Maybe, contact mercury for more info.

When I first got my boat, before I was ready to dig into a service manual, I bought from Mercury an owners manual for my engine/outdrive. It lives in the boat's glove box, and while pretty much everything in it duplicates what could be found in the service manual, it is pretty handy at times. It has operating instructions, basic maintenance info, specs on the engine and fluids, etc. Sometimes if I'm puttering around in the boat and can't remember something, it's easier to pull out the little owners manual than to fire up the computer and look at the service manual. (Although, I'm gradually amassing many printed pages from the service manuals, as I like to print the pages when I'm doing major work.)

If you contact Merc with your serial numbers from the outdrive and engine, they can make sure you get the correct one.
