I have a 40 hp evinrude vro. When starting the starter engages the freewheel but the fly wheel won't budge. Can someone please help? I added a link to my YouTube video so you can see what's going on. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=eUP4YyqI_OQ
Last ran in July and it was running fine. Started it again before hurricane Irma hit but the motor stalled and this happened. Any one know a good boat mechanic in Orlando?
Why pay $80-100 shop cost when you have all the techs you could ever need right here? After all, you asked the question here. Why not listen and do it yourself? Easier than you think with the right counsel
Thanks ronward very encouraging. I will pull the flywheel first and then let you know what happened
don't disagree, but think the starter gear might be jammed up at the top of the shaft. Might see if the gear can be rotated down by hand, freeing up the flywheel.
