Going to be slow roll . Time and money are limited and I've got stuff to do on house first . With that said iam stoked and had to share my excitement with some people who can understand why . The rest of my circle are questioning my sanity and saying great you just bought an old trashed boat , congrats !

As for plans . Because of time and money I will embrace boats vintage look . She will remain as configured with me restoring as much as possible . Deck and transom are toast . Hull spears solid. I see some white chalk around rivets here and there . Rivets in my future iam sure . Splash well is going to need help with some tearing and punctures . Doors to under splash well are solid enough to save as are bench seat , console and front bench and bow storage . Bow rail appears savable with some repair and cleaning . Lots of things I could do ! Just have to temper my self before I turn $ 300 boat into 15 k boat and end up in dog house !

Welcome to the madness!!! Be prepared for a full Gut Job. Did you get a title? Whats your budget? It'll probably take around 2-3K to get her "Ship Shape"! That plate on the back is NOT original and prolly indicates a rotten transom Pretty sure your boat is gunna be rated for no more than 115hp and more like 90hp. How long is she? Don't worry to much about time. Took me 3 years and didn't do a gut job. Life is WAY more time consuming than we all can imagine. We'll be here for ya!!!

I live 20 minutes from Hampton beach New Hampshire . So my goal is to have both fresh and salt boat . Advice from all is welcomed . Iam sure there's members of forum close to me . Hopefully I can start tear down here and there soon and post what I have done and found . Iam also sure that as I do this , problems will pop up that my excitement of boat find and purchase overlooked !

Hi woodenglass . Boat is 18 foot super sport from all indications . Yes transom and floor/deck are toast . Hull plate says 140 hp . Thinking 90 to 115 if money allows . Reality says long rebuild . With out motor I can say id be lucky to come in under 2-4 k spent , obcourse this will be over time to lessing the hurt and keep the admiral from making me walk the plank

I got title for boat , not for trailer . At some point boat salvage place near me sells trailers in my boat range for 200 . Iam thinking shore lander converted into bunk//roller trailer with some stuff harvested from trailer I got with boat . Iam going to need salt trailer . My plan and goal is to be able to use boat as combo fresh salt rig . The flounder are coming back in my area and I can smell fried flounder just looking at boat . obcourse if I sold boat now and used money at fish market i would be ahead of game ( no fun! ) . Grew up fishing and boating . Life got busy and hard and havnt done a lot of either for years . Caught the bug again last year and have been lurking here and other places planning my return to fishing /boating. Decided early aluminum was way to go for fishing rig that I could buy and restore !

Depending on your state, you may be able to register the trailer with just the registration. Here in NY some trailers are transferable, just have the owner sign the back of the registration card, take it to the DMV along with Bill Of Sale and a few $$ later its in your name.

Looks like a fun project. IF it were mine, I'd ditch the front railing as it dates the boat horribly, paint the window channels, refresh the interior and two tone (or add graphics) to the hull side. I definitely see potential there. As for motors...I'm partial to Honda but my cousin and uncle have older yammies and they haven't had any issues that I'm aware of.
