Going to be documenting the progress on my 39' Cigarette Squadron XII "Dry Martini". I got her without motors/drives. I have alot of work to do in the meantime to get her ready for the water.
This is how she looks as of now:

This is from around 2003 or so:

So far I brought 2 batteries. Got one of the hatches to come up and down, and I am working on getting the other one hooked up again. Need to get the third battery soon. Removed cabin cushions for cleaning. The cabin is beautiful, all teak and I plan on changing nothing, except upgrading the sound system it currently has. The cabin floor does need to be replaced though.

Eventually, she'll get a fresh coat of paint, but that will most likely be later on down the road. The trailer will most likely be replaced for a better one, as this one is for a 42 Fountain and the boat does not sit correctly on it.

Thanks all! A bit of history. I have known the previous owner since 2006 when I graduated elementary school, all the way up until now at age 25. So i know the boat pretty well, plus got to drive it once.

kcassells clear your browsing history and cache and I bet they show up. pics are there for the rest of us.

DryMartini motors and drives will be a pretty penny. however a set of 1650's would really make the boat fly..... maybe check the classifieds on OSO

Done right, that will be one sweet Cig (again)! Don't envy you the $$$$ you will be putting out for engines and drives, plus, but I will sure envy the final product! Congrats and looking forward to seeing more of this boat, Martini!

Commented on your thread on OSO, but my god, I love that color. Such a sick boat.

I don't even want to know the price of one, let alone two...lol! While they are fast motors for sure, still nothing beats the sound of twin big blocks with blowers ;)

Thanks! The plan is to get a set of motors to last me long enough until I decide to have them built them to the specs I desire. A set of 454s or 502s would be ideal. :)

Found out some neat history on my boat today. It used to be all white with a red stripe and black V-shaped windscreen. Was painted to the color you see now. A custom mold was built for the new fiberglass fairing, whole interior was redone, stuff on the deck was taken off and replaced with newer style pop up cleats etc. Original motors were 454's with TRS drives. Later on down the road, the MRD blower motors were added along with the raised rear section of the hatches to allow room since the blower motors were tall. The TRS were swapped out and holes filled in and raised for the speedy 3s..
Here is an older picture before the new seats were added and motors.
