First time poster/boater. Ive replaced the 2.3l omc to get this boat running. I have replaced the impeller just because. However, the hose in the sterndrive that takes the water from the impeller to the motor has become disconnected leaving me with no water in the motor. Its a very small aera to work and i just cant seem to get the hose on the fitting and the hose clamp on. Tell me there is a suggestion / easier way to connect this hose.

Are you talking the hose from the transom to t- stat housing? I have a 3.0 Cobra & on mine the hose has a flared end on the transom side. Is your hose OE? If so it should slip right on. Btw, that hose is NLA.

This hose is flared, its in the water and connects to a port on the stern drive. I can barely get it on there and hose clamp just doesnt grab well. I was just hopeing for a suggestion to get this hose on all the way. Also not sure what NLA is. Thanks for the response

NLA- no longer available. Like I said the hose should slip tight on. Try putting some liquid soap on the fitting. You can also try putting an ear clamp on instead of the screw type clamp. You just need a pair of channel lock pliers or the specialty pliers for the ear clamp. That's what i did. I dont trust worm type hose clamps on water hoses.
