Sometimes you simply like what you like and there are a couple of advantages in a wakeboard boat over an I/O. First, they are very roomy. Second, with an inboard, the prop is not exposed. This is nice if you have kids who inherently like jumping off the back of the boat.
That said, they are disadvantages too. I compare it to buying a Corvette over a Buick sedan. A Buick being far more practical, but missing a certain "wow" factor. Wakeboard boats have always had a "wow" factor for me.
you are so right, and too many times you get criticism for motors to small or to big or wrong boat for what you want. I say its your boat, your money and your time spent on the water. Enjoy and create memories for the kids. My grand kids talk all winter long about grandpas boat and summer drives down the lake to get ice cream.
