MaKenzie Cherokee

I got a Makenzie Cherokee 14' aluminum boat I was wondering if anyone knew the year and the model, I attached a photo of the boat and of tags that I found on the transom, it appears to have had two bench seat in it at one time by the brackets that where left.

what does your paperwork say it is (title/registration)? without paperwork it may be a yard planter model

I did not receive any paper work with the boat, what are you saying that without it I won't be able to use it on the water?

Yep, depending on where you live, thats exactly what he meant. Some states are extremely difficult to deal w if you dont have title and/or registration for boat and trailer. Some states title outboard motors as well.....

I did some research and michigan does not require a title for boats under 20' and with an outboard. Does anyone know how to decifer the hin numbers for a Makenzie Cherokee.

HINs came about in 1972. Prior to that was serial numbers

Thanks Scott that's what I figured I found some pictures of a 59 Cherokee and mine does not fit the bill. Mine has the cross member between where the rear bench seat would be and the splash pan is, I have yet to see one with that cross member but I believe that 59 is close based on the the location and style of the side sticker.
