If its at TDC then that would be an issue. The motor is rotated watching for the intake valve to open (valve goes down), keep rotating until the valve comes fully up (closed), this is TDC

Don’t believe I was at TDC before as I was able to turnover more and close up everything. Hooked up the compressor and I’m hearing a gurgling noise internally. Thinking something with cooling. I have a video but I can’t upload it.

I'm getting some water in #8 cylinder. Can the low compression be caused by a bad head gasket which is allowing water from cooling in? Valves seem ok.

Exhaust riser was shot and leaking water after I had to take off to get the valve cover off. Could that be why I got water in #8 instead of leak in head gasket. Still can't explain gurgling noise on leak down test and where that is coming from.

gurgling is water going from the combustion chamber to the cooling system. you could have had a hydro-lock situation from your bad elbow leaking into #8 that blew out the head gasket. if thats the case, it usually bends the con rod too.

Pull the head and see what the issue(s) are, then determine what needs to be done. Could be just a head gasket to something greater

Cap the hoses going to the manifolds and elbows. Pull and cap the inlet line coming from the transom at the thermostat housing. Pull one of the pipe plugs, easiest is at the thermostat housing, and pressurize to 15 pounds.

Ok so had a guy familiar with the 5.7 take a look. He loaded cylinder with seafoam and redid compression test wet. Came up to 90 PSI. Any miracle solutions for worn wall/rings?

.... He loaded cylinder with seafoam and ...

 no, no, no.. 'Wet' test is done with about a teaspoon of oil (preferably 2 stroke oil) in each cylinder... Not seafoam...

There's only one fix for worn rings/cylinder walls, and it's not a miracle. It involves creating a void space in the boat, where the engine was, and filling a void space in a machine shop, with the aforementioned engine.

Again sure wish I bought stock in seafoam, never use it but I would be getting rich right now. That stuff is Naphtha, Alcohol and machine oil, and spraying it in the cylinder just washed all the oil (if there was any) off the rings and cylinder wall

If you call boreing and honing the blick, new pistons, rings and gaskets a miracle

Seafoam is an effective product for removing carbon from the combustion chamber. Can also work for freeing up stuck rings due to carbon build up. Stuff works for that issue.

Here’s some pictures from the borescope. Cylinder doesn’t look too bad to me. Hoping ring is just stuck from sitting that’s why we tried the sea foam.

Boat isn't worth putting a new motor in or tearing down this one. How will performance/reliability be on 7 cylinders? This is just a lake boat.

With that cylinder not 'working', it'll suck water and hydro-lock, or rust out the internals. Reliability = 0...
