found it on the side of the road for free. Needs work. Got it to putter over and run a bit but needs fuel system work. It’s a 3hp and I noticed the intake is missing. I need an air silencer and any other hardware or gaskets that might be needed. If anyone knows where I could buy one I’d be very happy. I will get my model number and everything tomorrow. I believe it’s a 60s one.

Are you sure it came with an intake silencer or anything on the front of the carb? Mine did not.

That air silencer is probably the last part you need to worry about. It will run fine without it. I’d spend the time dealing with the usual suspects of compression, spark and fuel before looking for that. Not too hard to find, at least where I am. Lots of those motors around.

All the 3hp models had an air silencer. Early models used a 203224 and the later ones used a 203225. I suspect they are interchangeable. Part is unavailable new. Go to AOMCI.org and post a free want-ad in their classified section. Someone will have one for sale.

I am currently cleaning the carb. There are screw holes for an air silencer on mine but no gasket, screws or the air unit itself. I looked all over the internet and couldn’t find anything

As Douglas said. Whether or not it had a silencer, just place it if there was one, on your parts list and move on. Some motors have them some do not they will run the same. Most carbs will have screw holes for them whether included or not. Why worry, its like buying paint before checking compression and spark.

Top half is 203224, bottom half is 203225, screen is 203320. All are listed as no longer available. Try www.aomci.org classified ads page.

Has both spark and compression in both cylinders. How much I’m not sure but I can feel it when I turn it over. I even got it to run for 5 seconds or so
