Hi everyone,

Thanks for all your help so far, I try to search as much as I can before posting as a newbie.

my boat came equipped with a choke ignition on the console and a Morse Incom single lever throttle with trim buttons.

Am I correct in thinking the “warm up throttle” (usually shown as a separate lever on other throttle boxes) Is the same action as my single lever being pulled out? When it’s pulled out, I can rev it in neutral so I figured this is the same thing?

if so, how far should I be setting it before attempting to start it?

also, should I be pushing the electric choke on the key ignition multiple times or does one push suffice?

havent been able to find manuals on either

Pull out the handle and push it forward. Developing a starting procedure will tell you how far.

What motor? For most of them you push and hold the key in until it starts. Gotta know what motor to be accurate.

Remove the engine cowl. Move the lever till you see the linkage/ throttle move a bit. Push ign in and crank her over till it fires up. By removing the cowl, you will actually be learning where the throttle in in it's happy spot.

These are all great tips! Thank you so much!

to confirm: I push, hold and turn the key. NOT push it in a few times like a primer bulb.

Hold the key pushed in while cranking it over.--------Push in momentarily if motor falters after starting till it warms up.-----And do NOT let motor run wild in neutral.---About 1200 RPM is fine for warm up.

Right. You will see and hear the choke plate shut when you push the key. If you have a primer bulb on the fuel line, give it a few pumps before starting.
