Hey guys! Got a 496 MAG HO with a Bravo One. So boat ran fine last summer, put it up and got everything ready for this summer (oil change, gear lube, batteries charged). Brand new stainless steel impeller kit last season, haven't put 10 hours on boat since that. I started it in the lake and it ran great, was cruising for about 30 min then suddenly the boat started the two beeps a minute. I shut it down and checked all my fluids, everything seemed OK. I then went back to the dock and tried to full throttle it to see if the long beep would occur, to which it did, I had a constant beep on full throttle, and then when I got to about 2400 rpm ish, it went back to just the two beeps a minute? I have a scanner, but I cant access it until end of next week due to it being in my friends garage while hes on vacation. Any tips before I scan it, would love to hit the lake this week due to a fundraiser I would love to do for the kids. Thanks!

Heres what I also noticed since, batteries a little undercharged, but dont think that would cause it since boat started fine? Trim hydraulic fluid a little low, but dont think that would cause a constant beep on WOT. These things I noticed since I dont think would cause a issue at WOT.

Thanks guys!

Very high possibility that its the water pressure sensor on the power steering cooler 8M6000623

No mention of year, or fuel system (carb, EFI or MPI), or serial number. Any 'answer' is just a WAG.

496 mag only comes in one flavor. Agree that that the most common fault is the water pressure sensor

If you have 100% power available it could be a low water pressure alarm but total shot in the dark without a scan. You could pull the hoses off the raw water coolers to check for blockages and back flush.

Which is why we have scan-tools and diagnostic software. :D

Agree. We don’t all have them though, haha. Wish I did, but the wee vessel view has seen me right so far. I know you’re not a fan though, haha.

Do you have the mobile vessel view? Been thinking of getting it myself...

Yeah. Had it since it first came out. Honestly now...it’s and amazing thing. Won’t go into too much detail but tells you just about everything you’ll ever need to know...and with pin point real time accuracy.
Fuel consumption measured by injector pulses
fuel range
time left
best cruising speed
oil pressure and temp
coolant pressure and temp
actual rpm...accurate
gps speed
service indicators and hours keft
fault codes and actual read outs. No more guessing or plugging in to dealer.
Etc etc
