Hello all, I'm Mike from Sweden and New to this forum.
I hope I'm in the right subforum and the reason I'm here is because I just can't seem to identify which year my engine is made..

BJ35EEOS.

I've checked some lists but feeling confused.
Trying to find which fuel filter I should buy as I think it might be little bit clogged.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

Just curious, racer, why do you suspect it is a jet?

I dont have any good pictures where you can see the lower part of the engine right now, but it has a normal propeller down there no jet as far as I know =)

Also noticed it says 3 cylinder with big letters on the engine cover now, this is the best pic I have on the phone atm.

The confusion may the fact that those 3 cylinder motor do not show up in North America till 96 model year.-----The 95 model 35 is often the 50 HP derated as a 35 jet power------So a European market comes into it..

There would be no shaft length code for a short-shaft motor.

Thank you all for clearing this up for me.
Now I can feel comfortable with ordering parts when needed atleast.

One last question, when reading about the sort of 3cyl. engine I have which mixes the oil with the fuel inside the engine, many seem to say that this system is not to be trusted and have even disconnected the internal oil tank and rewired the engine.

Is this something I should be worried about?

Throw that oil tank away as far as you can.----Not a good set up.----Mix at 50:1 with a quality oil.-----If you are the new owner you should install a new water pump impeller.

I will conduct maintenance when I take the boat up in the fall. Changing impeller and that sort of stuff.

Removing the internal oil tank I suppose is something I would do at the same time, or is it as simple as just taking it off and go on as usual (except mixing in oil in the gasoline)?

What I'm asking I guess is if its something I can do while having the boat in the water without causing any oil spills or such.

Thanks

I
