Hi all,

I have a 2004 Bayliner 175 with the Merc 3.0 Alpha 1. Trim is stuck with no response from the switch in either direction. Prior to this it did have this issue very rarely but it always resolved itself, now it's dead it seems and I don't know why. So far I've cleaned every connection I can reach which did get it to go for a moment but it stopped and wouldn't go again. I've also bridged the solenoid and that also had no result at all. I'm guessing that that means the solenoid is bad but I'm not sure? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I attached an image of my exact trim pump for reference.

make sure both the pos and neg connections are good short the 2 large lugs on the top solenoid, motor should run If motor does not run, use a jumper from the + battery to the blue wire, if still nothing run a jumper fronm the neg battery and test again with the pos jumper to the blue wire.If still nothing motor is bad, worn brushes, stuck brushes

Ayuh,...... Welcome Aboard,..... Ya see those Blue, 'n Green wires comin' outa the pump's motor,..??..??

Take a jumper, 'n connect the outer housin' of the pump/ motor to the negative(-) post of yer battery,.....

Then with another jumper wire, from the battery positive(+), touch the Blue wire,..... the trim should go Up,..... (Sky Blue)

Then with that same jumper wire, touch the Green wire,... the pump should run Down,.... (Green Grass)

If either or neither work, the motor's beat,.....

If both work, ya got a connection problem, 'tween the battery, 'n the pump's motor,......
