Next question. I paid $550 for it and it runs well. Would $550 be a decent price for this motor?

The " sportwin " is a 10 hp motor.----Last marketed in 1963.----You are not the first nor the last to be taken by a seller.-----And perhaps the seller did not know either.-----Perhaps the model plate was swapped , tampered with.----Does model # on the block agree with numbers on the plate ??

Well model #18902b is a 1969 18hp, but have to agree that lower unit is an earlier model 10hp. Plate was switched.
By the way that little cover where it is leaking gives access to the shift rod coupler. If the motor is new to you, you should install a new water pump impeller. Remove the lower bolt in that coupler and remove the 4 bolts which hold the lower unit on, and it will drop down and off. The water pump sits on top of the lower unit. Remove the cover to replace the impeller. I wouldn't run the motor without a new impeller.

I see how the brackets are a different color. Where do I find the other serial number?

Should be part # 304023 for that gasket... i think they were the same for the sport and ski twin. $550 is quite a bit! I paid $150 for mine. Guy had the shift rod bolts all screwed up (no pun intended) and wouldn't shift to forward. and of course the gasket was missing. alternative fix: coat the cover plate with some gasket sealer... should fix you right up!

Yep. Model # is a match for a 1962 10hp.

When I thought this motor was a 18hp I ran fuel through it that was mixed at a 50:1 ratio. Could that have damaged anything?

No not at all.-----Some will argue all day long about oil and mixtures.----If you ask 10 people you will get 15 different opinions about oil.----The whole concept of 2 stroke lubrication is nor well understood.----In 62 some motors ran at 24:1 and the exact same motor in 64 ran at 50:1.-----A board room / marketing decision was made to go to 50:1 in 64.

If it runs well and lasts for years then it amortizes out pretty well. Still, if it were me I would be tracking down the seller and getting an explanation and maybe $150 back.

As a comparison I bought the 1997 version of that motor (25 years younger) a couple of years ago and paid $650 IIRC.

I had that motor about 10 years ago -- has good power, and still trolls slow and low if tuned well. Price? Win a few and lose a few. Change the impeller as was suggested, and pull the flywheel. Check the condition of the coils. If cracked housings, replace them.
