I know this may sound stupid but I am getting old and I have worked too long restoring a Sea Ray to screw up something ELSE. I cannot find Stainless steel worm clamp torque specs. I have bolt specs. I have both foot/pound and inch/pound torque wrenches. I do not want to crush bellows. THX!

Don't know what model you're working on but the mercruiser manual number 6 says 35 inch pounds.
You won't crush the bellows as there's a metal tube behind it but I guess you could break the clamp.
I've always tightened hose clamps by feel.

I was worried about tightening so tight that it ruptured the rubber, especially shifter boot. Model in Bravo 1. It is my understanding exhaust band should be over tightened since there are no ribs or barbs on metal and raising and lowering drive may cause exhaust boot to pull off. THX!
