Hi, i just restored 1975 6hv johnson, its quite nice and no vibration on tiller at all... i like it.
But it has no stop button, just turn gas so much off that it stops. When iam fishing, i start and stop a lot, then turning that gas on and off is frustrating. So question is where i can put safely a separate stop switch that it wont hurt that old ignition system? ignition coils to ground on stop? is it safe that way?
Second question is that are these engines really built that way that it wont stay up when stop driving? it has 4 different drive position, and it can be locked down when driving, but not up position. that is weird. i have shallow shore and i have to put some stick in to it to hold it up : D
