Im thinking of using Coosa board to redo the floor. Mainly because I believe it will be lighter and last a lot longer than plywood allowing me to justify installing a more expensive floor cover such as composite boat decking sheet.

The other option is marine plywood and simple cheap marine carpet.

Anyone else have any suggestions, we are going for a look such as this product but want to keep costs down (image stolen from amazon)

Keep costs down a coosa dont belong in the same sentence....

Simple ACX or BCX plywood or MDO plywood will work just as well as marine plywood if you seal it correctly... marine plywood is the same thing as ACX ply except it cant have any voids in the internal cores, otherwise, same glues, same inner material, unless your spending several hundred per sheet for high end marine ply.

Good to know, I didn't think it was that much more expensive. The main attractiveness to the Coosa is the weight. Although, may end up selling the boat after we refurbish it as we're looking for something newer, so perhaps epoxy + plywood and cheap carpet to make it presentable would suffice.

Ok I found some pricing, looking at $375 CAD a sheet for Coosa
Marine Grade 3/4 is looking to be around $120.00 CAD

I dont think coosa is much (if anything I thought it was heavier) weigh savings...

Still have to use fiberglass to install coosa, so no weight savings there either. Or negligible amounts.....

the amazon pic is of EVA foam (fake teak). nothing to do with coosa or wood or fiberglass.

no weight savings on coosa over wood

only thing lighter is the wallet. ACX plywood is only $37 a sheet

I used ACX on my last 2 builds, using it on the current project also, Glass top and bottom. Interested in hearing about the Amazon EVA stuff. I hate carpet in a boat.

Eva is my go to now , love the stuff , yes it attracts dirt however it's easy to clean and looks great and feels awesome on the feet!
