Help I.D. older Alumacraft Boat

Hello-

I am looking for help identifying a boat I believe to be a Alumacraft Deep C. I purchased it last summer after looking for many years for a Alumacraft FDR. It was listed locally as an 'aluminum boat' and the price was right-- $350 got me the boat and trailer.

I believe it to be a Deep C because of the way it looks, however the bow cover looks a lot different than the others I have seen photos of. Many of the Deep C's I have seen have a cover that is in set from the gunnels a bit while mine sits on top.

It needed some work-- There was probably 5 gallons of flex seal in the bottom in an attempt to stop leaks, the transom was cobbled together, and there was a pretty good leak in the bow.

I spent a couple weeks cleaning it out-- stripping out the old paint and flex seal, sealing all the rivits with gluvit and 3m 5200, buffing, and rebuilding the transom.

If it is in fact a Deep C, the next project will be creating factory replicas of the bimini top and seats.

Not a Deep C you have yourself a Queen Merrie.

Thanks for the info guys. The web link is great-- It puts together the stuff I have seen scattered about in one spot.

DeepCMark58A whats tells you it's a Queen vs Deep C? I have not seen photos of a Queen with rolled gullenls like mine has.

Always learning... !

Looking into this a bit further...

The Queen Merrie is said to have a plywood floor and appears to have the back-back type seats typical of a modern boat. The boat I have has neither, nor signs of either. Painted ribbed floor and three rows of fixed bench seats filled with foam.

Cool to know I can email that number to them. To confirm this is the number stamped into the transom support? If I remember correctly this is on the side of it and only a couple digits long?

The registration is clearly wrong "1980 Alumacraft Boat"

Does anyone know where repo windscreens are available? My brother in-law's father has a Flying C. During one of the last windstorms a tree branch came down and smashed it to bits.

The one I have on my flying D is one off a donor boat. You can find them on craigs. And yes those numbers are a serial number. It will take up to a week to get a return e-mail. Unless they are closed.

Just emailed Aluma Craft, hopefully I will hear in the next week or so. My number is: YF16 - 1335 for what it is worth.

Got to get another coat of polish on it, and then hit the water!

I heard back from Alumacraft. The serial number came back as a 1968 YK-16, 1 of 292 produced.

Has anyone heard of the YK model?

Yukon, 16', like in Alaska would be my guess and it looks like something that would be used up there in their type of waters.

No I have not. I should have asked the length of the boat. The boat looks older than a 1968
