hello ive just installed this unit on my boat,my question is do I need to run a wire from the alternator to one of the battery?my boat is a 1989 maxum with a gm 305 I/o,ive seen it in other posts and then I havnt!?lol,also does it matter what side of the switch I wire the batterys to?thanks for the help......be safe

thanks dingbat(makes me laugh)but I don't understand the wording?where do I hook it to?it says 4 or 5 different places?I don't understand why some diagrams show a wire coming from the alternator and some don't.....I hate wiring......thanks again for any help

Outboards typically don't have alternators. Hard to wire up something you don't have. ;)

Nothing changes, connect the "alternator" wire to the same place it is now.

The 4 or 5 different places are possible connection points for the alternator cable.

Where is your alternator currently terminated?
