I have a Lund crossover with a Merc 150 and I purchased a Smartcraft tac only that I’m trying to install. I will still run my analog gauges and just swap the tac. Here’s where I need some help, reading a few forums there’s allot of people on here with the knowledge to help!!

1. I think I need a junction box from my main cable in. On the out side I would have the standard Smartcraft harness to the tac. Also on the out side I would need an adapter and my stock analog harness to my other gauges. Is this accurate?

2. If that’s correct do I just cap the wires off the existing harness that would go to the tac since I’m no longer using them?

Any help is greatly appreciated!! I’ll post some wiring diagrams that might help others working on gauges. Thank you

Going from the limited data you posted, the smart craft harness connects to plug “B” in the diagram.

You would then simply connect the tach to the smart craft cable, assuming your tach is Smart craft compatible.

Not sure that a conventional pulse tach would work using digital interface

Sorry for the limited info, Currently I’m wired up like the first picture the standard analog setup. I purchased a Smartcraft tac but it did not come with any of the wiring, gauge only. I’m wondering what I need to hook it up. I’ll post the gauge connection below, it looks like a 10 pin so not sure how to connect it to that 6 pin shown in the diagram. Thanks for the help

I still need the analog for the rest of Munt gauges, I’m just looking to replace the tac with the Smartcraft tac.

SmartCraft is a digital interface. Has nothing to do with the analog interface your currently using. The anolog harness stays in place with no modifications.

You need to purchase and install a SmartCraft interface harness which connects to Connector "B" at the motor in your diagram. The connector to fits the tach is part of the SmartCraft interface cable
