Trying to find out why I’m overcharging
97 oceanrunner 200
over 2000 rpm my volts jump to 15.5-16+
swapped a new voltage regulator 0 change
tried each battery individually to make sure it was not the batterys
reading colts at my lowrance, installed a new dial voltage regulator, reading same voltage

Batterys are three years old , bad cell?
let them sit all winter before I plugged them in

Try a different battery, check all your connections for being tight and clean.

batteries may be full charged and accepting very little amps even if volts are a bit high. what effects do you see other than a high voltage… are electronics being affected (auto-shut downs) , any bulbs burning out ….batteries boiling away the water electrolyte. are you using "blue or red batteries" or regular lead acid starting batteries vs deep cycle ones ?

Lowrance aside what do you read with a plain old Voltmeter ?

Assuming that your rectifier regulator has a purple wire check that there is battery voltage on it
