Hello Trwf150 and :welcome: to iboats.

Without knowing more details of the engine I would suggest that it requires a 'short to ground' of the ignition kill wire to shut it down, and that the kill wire isn't connected.

Thanks that’s exactly the switch I have.I was told I was gonna have to have a new solenoid switch. I’m not sure.Should I just run an extra ground to the fuse box ground?

The switch MUST have a negative connected to it. If it doesn't, you will not be able to turn the engine off.

there are two types of ignition switches

those for magneto ignitions like your outboard needs

and those for powered ignitions

I believe you bought the wrong one.

I think that switch will do both, magneto and powered ignition. For a magneto, connect the ignition kill wire and a ground, for powered ignition, just power to the key and the ON wire to the 'I' connector.

Ignition switch works if I run a ground to fuse box.it shuts motor off when I shut off the switch. I haven’t found any wires shorted yet. I ran a wire from one side of Magnitogorsk to fuse box and switch works.Think I have the wrong switch?
