Pull freeze plugs if temperature dips

I live in Wisconsin and I have a Sea Ray Mercruiser 4.3L, which is in the water. This weekend for one night the temperature is forecast to dip to 29 degrees for one hour, then 30, then 31, then 32 and climbing. Is this cause for pulling my freeze plugs?

Thanks,
-Geo

First, welcome to i-boats. Usually in the water, it takes a bit more cold weather to freeze as the water is above freezing. Also this is the outboard forum. I'm sure the mods will move it to the mercruiser forum.

Considering there pressed in I dont see you just removing them, pull the drain plug and/or the hoses

You could run the engine for a period of time that evening to heat it up, and if the engine is kept covered by the engine cowl or Swim platform, it should be fine. Besides the Core Plugs are not easily removed

The temp profile you gave did not say how long the total time below freezing is, only that it will go 3 degrees for an hour.
BTW the Forecast will be different Tomorrow, the day after that, and even Friday

Could say: 'ignore it', no way will a couple hours below freezing will harm a block in a boat in the water... however, comma, it takes about 15 minutes to pull the block and manifold drains and the water pump hose. No excuse not to when it is so simple to be sure.

Nuke the site from orbit. Only way to really be sure.

The low temp for the day is forecast to be 29 degrees, but it turns out that is referring to the "feels like" temp in the hourly column (wind is forecast to speed up). The actuals are all above 34 degrees. Since my block can't feel, well, you know. Thumbs down on my weather station. Problem solved.
