What you need will vary by state.
Hopefully a well written and detailed bill of sale will do.

There is no hull id as the boat predates the HID system.
just a serial number where Mark said, inside, on the transom brace.

Did they never register the boat in their name?
Usually the boat has registration numbers and the owner seller has the registration card with the same numbers.

Depending on your state, they may assign the boat a hull id, and you will have to stamp that number into the boat.

Go visit the people that do the registrations, and ask them how to proceed.

Thanks for the reply i appreicate it seriously.

The HID's were attached to the hull.
I think my '77 had the hid stamped into a metal strip, and the strip was riveted to the transom.

The Serial numbers I had in my old Alumacraft were stamped into the brace.
Yours are probably buried under 3 coats of paint.

If they are not there, stamp some in and no one will know the difference.

Contacting Alumacraft will likely yield no help.
They have been sold several times in the last 25 years, and haven't been helpful at all when I contacted them.

getting us a little more info might help.
length?
beam?
weight?
Is there a BIA hp rating plate nailed to the inside of the transom?

Lots of old Alumacraft brochures located here:

It looks a lot like a '59 model A.
