Hello I have a 1969 16ft tri hull outboard. floor was rotted so replaced. Put in water today only to find out when we gave it the throttle the water came in. Pulled the boat and it has a crack right at the bottom of engine mount. As long as the engine mount bout nine inches. Looking at it from the inside looks like plywood that was sprayed with a texture material. I can see the crack. Question is is it fixable or not and what kind of work? Thank you

I'm thinking anything is fixable but is the juice worth the squeeze? Pictures, make and model would be great.

You might also want to sample some other portions of the boat's stringers and transom. If you're fighting with how much work you want to put into this, finding out a bunch more of the boat is rotten (or not) will help with that decision.

Uh oh, sounds like way more then deck was rotted. Sounds like everything, stringers, transom, etc., has rot. That would be quite predictable for a boat that age.

You will likely have to tear down the entire hull and replace everything wood in it. A huge job and expense to make a very old hull sea worthy. Unless you really really love that boat you would much better off trying to find something else.
