4.3 high oil pressure

I change my oil in a98 4.3 mercruiser 25 40 oil new wix filter now my oil pressure is 60 at idle raising to 80 web i accelerate was a
steady 40 before any ideas

Probably a gauge or sender issue.
See if you can borrow a mechanical gauge at a auto parts store and check

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,....... Was this right as ya finished the job, on the wagon,..??

If so, No problem,........ Stone cold oil, with no load on it,......
